Pastor John E. Girton, Jr. (Pastor G)
John E. Girton, Jr. (aka Pastor G) is a community activist, senior servant of the historic CMBC Indy and founder of Unite for Change.org. A native of Indianapolis, his passion is working to strengthen his community through various faith, evidence based skill building programs and educational events. His community activities have made an impact felt across the city of Indianapolis and around the country. He is well-known as a teaching-preacher who is an advocate of urban servant leadership and activism. As the founder of the movement Unite For Change.org, his non-traditional perspective on bringing people together to resolve major community challenges is a refreshing, informed and timely response to hurting communities across the United States. He has been referred to as the "people's pastor" of his entire near northside community.
A former Journalism and Telecommunications instructor at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, Pastor G uses his many gifts and talents to empower men and women to lead productive and responsible lives. He has instructed students in various areas of journalism, media, marketing and communications at Tennessee State University and The First Amendment Centers Freedom Forum on the Campus of Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. As an entrepreneur, he owns, Girt Enterprises LLC a creative consulting firm and travels extensively speaking and training non-profit and non-governmental business leaders on marketing, communication strategies and image building. He enjoys sharing messages of hope to inspire a generation to turn their life’s vision into reality.
Pastor G serves on several community boards and is involved in multiple community based organizations. His passion to lead by serving others is evident in his commitment to God's word and all of God's people.
